Oftentimes in casual conversation, people ask the typical question, “what do you do?”  I’m a Principal is the quick response.  “What school?”  And I proudly answer: Lutz Prep! But who are we? Simply put, we are a high performing, A-rated, School of Excellence. LP is a Leader in Me Lighthouse School. In certain reports, LP is considered a “combination” school since we are not solely elementary nor middle, yet combined in one campus – one school. And ultimately, Lutz Preparatory School is a K-8 Public Charter School of Choice.

I pause and think about this. The term “choice.” Families choose us to partner for their child’s education. Staff choose us to be their employer. All of the previous answers above apply, remain accurate, and impact decisions when choosing Lutz Prep.

Over the past 12+ years, I’ve been fortunate to see the growth of our school as we continue to serve just under 800 K-8 students. For any newer members to our Bolts community, my role started as AP for Elementary in the fall of 2014. And beginning in the 2023-24 school year, I stepped into the Principal role. As I continue to grow and reflect year to year, it provides motivation in paving the way to further analyze new opportunities, ensuring that LP does not become stagnant, and moving in a positive direction.

As part of this vision, I’m excited to share an update of refining and expanding our administrative team starting the 2026-27 school year. These are familiar faces, yet we are transitioning to a more specialized focus with the intention of streamlining efforts of efficiency and time. This comes with dedicated commitment in bringing a positive impact to our students, parents, staff, and community as a whole.
